One of the most recognizable landmarks of this seaside town, the Silver Ball, stands like a sentinel over Warrnambool.  Built in the 1960’s by the visionary businessman and social architect, Sir Fletcher Jones.

The Silver Ball is a watertower, built to provide water pressure for the factory fire fighting system.
